Stool Analysis and Parasitology

Approximately 1 out of 3 Americans is infected with an intestinal parasite at any given time. There are a number of ways to contract parasites, including the handling of animals (pets or livestock), consuming raw or undercooked meat and fish, unclean or contaminated fruits and vegetables, contaminated water, international travel and more. This test checks for parasite infestations, yeast content, undigested food particles and blood in the stool. Symptoms of parasites and/or gut bacteria imbalance and overgrowth may include: diarrhea, constipation, bloating, abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, bad breath, weight gain and maldigestion.
