This test identifies your complete fatty acid profile,  focusing specifically on identifying your omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acid levels. It has been estimated that over 90% of adults in the United States have too little omega-3 fatty acid intake in their daily diet. Omega-3s promote brain health, are able to fight anxiety and depression, improve risk factors for heart disease, may reduce symptoms of ADHD in children, fight autoimmune diseases and decrease inflammation. Unfortunately, the Standard American Diet (SAD) is laden with high omega-6 foods, which trigger inflammation in the body. Inflammation may contribute to many chronic diseases, including coronary heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, osteoporosis, mental health, dry eye disease and age-related macular degeneration. For desired heart function, brain development/protection and  overall optimal health the recommended omega-6:3 ratio is 2:1 and absolutely no higher than 4 or 5:1,  unfortunately, most Americans maintain a ratio of 16:1 or higher.
